Red Rocks & Vegetables

The colors that exist in nature always make me stop. The red rocks of eastern Washington made me think of a new rug back on the west side of the mountains. Both very old & bold but so heavy and grounding. The rug? Antique, Russian & all-natural vegetable dyes. Perfect. I'm a lucky girl.

Yummy Colors

Tasting the real rainbow.

Rest in Your Own Breath

A teacher told me yesterday that embodiment is beautiful. It made me think a little . . . Sometimes I think we have good reasons to not want to be in our bodies. I think the ability to escape such physicality can be in itself amazing, it can be survival, it can be a practice, it can be interesting, but it can also be scary. Our physical self is what allows us to experience both good and bad. And bad can be bad, but we don't know bad without knowing good. In order to participate in this life we have to be here physically, so when its time to come back remember your breath, its the only thing I have found that puts me right back where I belong. Our bodies are most beautiful when we are in them. Rest in your own breath it will bring you back to body, back to embodiment, back to life.
